Petrographic microscope

The lab houses one Leica DM 2700P petrographic microscope, equipped with both transmitted and reflected light sources and up to 100x objective lenses, a Leica DMC 4500 high-resolution camera, and an imaging workstation.  The petrographic microscope is used primarily for documenting textures of polished experimental samples. The lab also houses a Leica binocular microscope for the characterisation of experimental samples and assembly parts both before and after experiments. 

stereozoom microscope

The lab houses one Leica S9e Stereozoom microscope with 10x magnification and LED illumination.  The stereozoom microscope is used primarily for the characterization of experimental samples and assembly parts both before and after experiments.
